To Ferne Roberts family, my sincerest condolences. I am so sorry I was not able to attend her service. My memory of Ferne at the Roberts Store will always bring a smile and Joy to my heart. She was a strong Christian and believe of God. I remember looking firm something in particular for an event with my own momma and wanted to look ,"presentable." Not sure but that's probably what I told her too. She was so sweet and knew the way to properly attire yourself. I took her suggestion and my momma told me later, that I looked very proper. It meant a lot then and I will always remember. She had the most beautiful smile. I send prayers to your family for peace and comfort.

What I remember most about Ferne was that warm loving smile. She was indeed a woman of God, and had a love for people. I was blessed to have known her. I so wanted to honor her by attending her services, but woke up sick today. Peace to each of you, who she loved so dearly.

I am the daughter of Harold and Pauline Lankford that lived across the street on Truman St. from Ferne. When she adopted her daughter, Carol, she named her after me. Fern was a lovely lady and my parent's stayed in touch with each other all these years. So sorry to hear of her passing. Carol E. and Brent L. Swick

I only knew Ferne for a short amount of time but during that time she poured out the love of God. I had the honor and pleasure of interviewing her for a class assignment this past summer where I got to learn about her life story. One thing stayed the same throughout her life was her relationship with the Lord. She was a inspiring woman and many people looked up to her in so many ways. I hope I am half the woman she became!
