Bobby Don McAdams

Bobby Don McAdams, age 71, of Liberal, Missouri, passed away on July 31, 2026.

Bobby was born on November 6, 1954, in Marianna, Florida, to James and Edith (Fread) McAdams while his father was serving in the military. During those early years, the family lived in Guam before eventually settling in Grandview, Missouri, where Bobby grew up alongside his brother and sister. Later, he made his home in Liberal, Missouri, where he raised his children and remained for the rest of his life.

When his children were young, Bobby worked as a produce delivery driver in the Kansas City area. After relocating his family to Liberal, he became a familiar face at the Liberal R-II School District, where he worked in maintenance and custodial services for many years, helping care for the school while watching generations of students grow.

Although he led a busy life, Bobby always made time for his children. He cherished family outings to "the pit," where they enjoyed fishing, swimming, biking, and making memories together. He also loved taking summer vacations to explore different states and spending time with friends who became like family. In his quieter moments, Bobby found joy in woodworking, gardening, and expressing himself through poetry.

Survivors include his son, Isaac McAdams and wife, Megan, of Lamar, Missouri; his daughter, Juli Tanner and husband Glenn of Millmont, Pennsylvania; five grandchildren, Aurora, Dominick, Fynn, James, and Abriana; and one sister, Linda Smith and husband, Bill, of Pleasant Hill, Missouri.

Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, James and Edith McAdams; one brother; one niece; and one nephew.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 9, 2026, at Hannon Free Will Baptist Church in Liberal, Missouri.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to either Barton City Cemetery or Hannon Free Will Baptist Church, in care of Daniel Funeral Home.
