COVID-19 Update

As funeral professionals we have been asked by several people in our community how we will continue to serve our families. The families that we serve are always our top priority. We want to assure you that we are staying up to date with the changing information we receive everyday from public health officials and government agencies.

For families that experience the loss of a loved one, Daniel Funeral Home will remain prepared 24/7 to serve your family at your time of loss. We will continue to care for your loved one as usual and will follow the guidance and regulations from the Missouri Department of Health.

Our government officials, both federal and state, have advised that all public gatherings be limited to 10 persons or less in dealing with the COVID-19 crisis. We take this pandemic emergency very seriously and are committed to following those recommendations.

We will make every effort to accommodate families in making arrangements and conducting services in any capacity needed to ensure the safety of our community and of our staff while honoring their loved one. We thank you for your patience as we work to safeguard the wellness of everyone who enters our doors.

For the safety of all, until the authorities lift the restrictions, we are implementing the following:

Cremation services will follow the same guidelines as outlined above.

Kathryn Jane Wingert

Kathryn Jane (Hassing) Wingert, age 89, of Golden City, Missouri passed away August 18, 2019, at Good Shepherd Community Care in Lockwood, Missouri.

Kathryn was born June 16, 1930 in Albert Lea, Minnesota to Leo Joseph Hassing and Dorothy Mary (Tennis) Hassing. On June 22, 1948, Kathryn married Reginald C. Wingert in Albert Lea, Minnesota.

Kathryn was a Homemaker and a devoted wife and mother. She also worked at Wyatt House in Golden City, Missouri until retirement.

Survivors include four daughters, Mary Kathryn Conway (Pat), St. Joseph, MO, Ruth Elaine Rice (Rick), Carthage, MO, Rita Jane Lehman (Tim), Erie, KS and Charlotte Grace Scott (Bill), Golden City, MO, along with eight sons, James Reginald Wingert, Lamar, MO, Edward Francis Wingert, Wescosville, PA, Thomas Michael Wingert (Pam), Lamar, MO, Robert Joseph Wingert (Sharon), Golden City, MO, Eugene George Wingert, Golden City, MO, John William Wingert (Paula), Golden City, MO, Charles Mark Wingert (Karen), Golden City, MO and Dennis Raymond Wingert (Lisa) of Lamar, MO. She is also survived by three sisters, Darlene Nelson, Albert Lea, MN, Geraldine Parker, Quartzsite, AZ and Sharon Hout, Columbus, OH, along with 31 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Preceding Kathryn in death were her husband, Reginald Wingert; her parents, Leo and Dorothy Hassing; a sister, Marcella Herdina; a son-in-law, Richard Taft; and two daughters-in-law, Donna Wingert and Joyce Wingert.

Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 23, 2019, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Lamar with burial at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.

Rosary will be held at 5:00 p.m. Thursday, August 22, 2019 at Daniel Funeral Home, with visitation directly following from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m.

Contributions are suggested and made payable to Good Shepherd Nursing Home for their "Good Endings Room" in care of Daniel Funeral Home.

May the dear Lord Jesus Christ be with you in your time of loss. Darlene Nelson and I are glad we got to spend time with Kathryn at Good Shepherd nursing home . We have the smile on her face she recognized us. And she is in heaven with her family in heaven. God bless each and every one of the family.
