Willie was born July 29, 1959, in Tribune, Kansas, to August Wendell Splitter and Evelyn Marjorie (Schwartzkopf) Splitter. In 1962, his family moved from Sheridan Lake, Colorado, to Liberal, Missouri, where they established their family farming operation. Willie attended Liberal schools and graduated with the class of 1977. He later attended one semester at Evangel University in Springfield, Missouri, where he played football.

On May 11, 1985, Willie married Vickie Lynn Yeokum in Nashville, Missouri, and together they built a life centered around family, faith, and farming.

A lifelong farmer, Willie dedicated his days to working the family land in crop production and built a thriving seed cleaning business over the past 30 years. He was actively involved in his community, supporting local youth through Liberal Rec Sports and the Liberal Booster Club. Willie was also a faithful member of Lamar Christian Church.

He will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Vickie Splitter; three sons, Matthew Splitter of Irwin, Missouri, Timothy Splitter and wife Kayley, and Jordan Splitter and wife Heather, all of Liberal, Missouri; and five cherished grandchildren, Khloe, Ellie, Joseph, Grady, and Maggie Splitter. He is also survived by four brothers, Leslie Splitter and wife Jackie, and August “Butch” Splitter and wife Susan, both of Lamar, Missouri; Sam Splitter of Liberal, Missouri; and Jonathan Splitter and Jody of Mulberry, Kansas; and one sister, Lydia Lightner and husband Harry of Parker, Colorado.

Willie was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Mary Splitter.
