Virginia Detong

Virginia Ann Detong, age 45, passed unexpectedly at her home, Monday, August 05, 2013. Virginia was born June 3, 1968 at Des Moines, IA. After High School, she furthered her education, receiving a degree in Welding and later a degree in Criminal Justice from Colorado Technical College. She attended Lamar First Baptist Church.  Virginia was on a Pool League, loved making jewelry, crocheting, scrapbooking, and was an avid reader, but most of all loved spending time with her grandkids. Virginia leaves behind one son, Kyle Schlabach of Kansas City, KS; two daughters, Ashley Marie Maus of Sarcoxie, MO and Makayla Swinson of Avilla, MO; her mother and step-father, Florence and Randle Rector; two brothers, three sisters, and four grandchildren, Emily Maus, Dennis Gibbs, Rylee Swinson, and Raylin Swinson. A granddaughter, Xzandria Gibbs preceded her in death, December 8, 2008. A Memorial Service will be 1:00 pm Saturday, August 10, 2013 at Harvest Community Church, Avilla, MO. Contributions are suggested to the Detong Family in care of Daniel Funeral Home.
