Thomas Mitchell Percy, age 58, of Jasper,
passed away Saturday, October 11,
2008, due to a motorcycle accident east of Lamar.
Tom was born April 10, 1950, in Colony, Kansas,
to Carl and Letha Mae (Bunker) Percy. He
graduated from high school in Iola, Kansas
and had been a truck driver most of his life.
He worked for Thorco in Lamar for several years and had driven for D
& D Sexton Trucking for the last 12 years.
Tom was an active member of First Christian Church of Carthage,
Christian Motorcycle Association, Bill Glass Prison Ministries, Spring River
R/C Club, Academy of Model
Aeronautics, and was a past member of the
Frontier Wagon Club.
On March
19, 1983, in Carthage,
Tom married Billie Ann Cook, and they celebrated 25 years together this
spring. Also surviving are two sons,
Frank Balster, Jr. & wife Christie of Northfield, Minnesota, Steven &
wife Donna Balster of Jasper; four daughters, Penni & husband Pete Welch of
Jasper, Tressa & husband Danny Luttrell, Taneyville, Missouri, Letha Mae
& husband Tim Thomas, Tulsa, Oklahoma, Chrystal Roland and long-time
companion, Rick Ellingswood, Forsythe, Missouri; a brother, Bill & wife
Deloris Percy of Clarksville, Tennessee; twelve grandchildren, Jennie Jo &
husband Lester Dalton of Webb City, Heather & husband Chris Caldwell of Carthage,
Missouri, Brittney Balster of Maryville, Missouri, Andy & Katie Balster of
Northfield, Minnesota, David Nally & Stacy Moser, both of Jasper, Michael
& Cherise Thomas of Tulsa, Nathan & Shelby Lutterell of Taneyville, and
Brandon Roland of Forsythe; and seven great-grandchildren, Ethan, Jade, Abbi,
Chloe, Joey, Jonathon, and Kaden.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 16th, at
First Christian Church of Carthage
with burial in Waters Cemetery
near Jasper.
The family will receive friends from 7
until 9 p.m. Wednesday at Daniel
Funeral Home in Lamar.
Memorial contributions are suggested to
First Christian Church Timothy Fund or the C.M.A. Bible Fund in care of Daniel
Funeral Home.
