Tommy "Tom" Ray Mooney II, age 54, of Lamar, Missouri, passed away on July 27, 2025, at Cox South Hospital in Springfield, Missouri.
Tom was born on August 20, 1970, in El Dorado Springs, Missouri, to Tommy Ray Mooney Sr. and Opal Marie (Warner) Mooney. He graduated from Walker High School with the Class of 1988 and went on to earn his bachelor's degree from Missouri Southern State University in 1993. On January 13, 1996, he married Lizabeth Ellen Hardman in Lamar, Missouri.
Tom worked in the Human Resources Department at 3M Manufacturing in Nevada, Missouri. He attended church at Christ Church of Oronogo and was a member of the National Rifle Association (NRA).
Tom is survived by his wife, Lizabeth; two sons, Trenton Mooney and wife Christina of Kearney, Missouri, and Trey Mooney and wife Brooke of Carthage, Missouri; one daughter, Katelyn Ayers and husband TW of Lamar, Missouri; his parents, Tom and Opal Mooney of Sheldon, Missouri; one sister, Tammy Ogburn and husband Kendall of Nevada, Missouri; and four beloved grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, James and Mary Warner and Alvin and Fern Mooney; his uncle, James Warner; and his mother-in-law, Lynda Hardman.
A graveside service will be held at 9:00 a.m., Thursday, July 31, 2025, at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Lamar, Missouri.
In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested and should be payable to either, T.A.T.S. (Truman Area Transportation Services), Lamar Animal Shelter or the Tunnel to Towers Foundation in care of the funeral home.
