Thomas Marel Jones Jr., age 69, of Lamar, Missouri, passed away January 30, 2026, in La Cruz, Mexico.
Thomas was born on August 12, 1956, to Thomas Marel Jones, Sr. and Molly (Vaughn) Jones. He attended Lamar High School until his senior year, completing his final year in Kansas City, where he graduated in 1974.
On September 18, 2004, Thomas married Kristina K. (Jungmann) Jones.
Thomas earned a bachelor’s degree from Missouri Southern State University and was a member of Alpha Chi. He later returned to MSSU in 2009, where he graduated in CNC machining. He was also a Master Scuba Diver.
Thomas had a deep passion for the ocean, scuba diving, and traveling to different countries. He loved riding Harleys and working with his hands, including woodworking, leather crafting, gardening, and farming. He also enjoyed attending auctions in search of nautical treasures. He loved helping and teaching others and was happiest when he was at the ocean.
He is survived by his wife, Kristina K. (Jungmann) Jones; two stepsons, Shane (Sarah) Marti and Christopher Dykes, both of Lamar, Missouri; one brother, Wayne (Gail) Yount; one sister, Portia (Dwayne) Yount; one sister-in-law, Shirley Vaughn; and one brother-in-law, Carlos Mario Bovia.
He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Marel Jones, Sr.; his mother, Molly Polly Peori (Vaughn) Jones; two brothers, Jerry Vaughn and Doug (Connie) Yount; and three sisters, Sue Powell, Marlene (Lonnie) Timmons, and Darlene Boria.

A Celebration of Life will be held on March 28th, 2026, at the Lamar Metro Building from 1:00 to 4:00 PM.
