Thelma Lorene Jeffries

Thelma Lorene Jeffries, age 93, of Carthage, Missouri, died Monday, September 3, 2018. Lorene was born in Koshkonong, Missouri to Fred and Ida Alice (Brewer) Clark. Lorene was a high school graduate and on July 14, 1946 she married Noah N. Jeffries in Stanley, Kansas and together they raised two sons. She was a homemaker and enjoyed crocheting, quilting, growing flowers and reading mystery novels. Lorene was a member of Carthage First Baptist Church and her faith in God was unwavering and she was committed to reading the Bible daily. Lorene is survived by her two sons, Mark (Karel) Jeffries, Carthage, Missouri, and Ron Jeffries, Joplin, Missouri; two brothers, Waymon (Barbara) Clark, Crane, Missouri and Phillip Clark, Paris, Texas; two sisters, Bernice Smalley, Butler, Missouri and Loeva McGinnis, San Antonio, Texas; ten grandchildren,18 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a brother Kent Clark, and a sister Margaret Clark. Funeral service will be 11:00 am, Friday, September 7, 2018 at Daniel Funeral Home with burial to follow in Morehead Cemetery. The family will receive friends 10:00 am until service time at the funeral home. Contributions are suggested to First Baptist Church Carthage in care of Daniel Funeral Home.
