Susie Griffitt

Susan Joan Griffitt, age 60, of Lamar, MO passed away June 21, 2019, at Freeman Hospital from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Susie was born October 3, 1958 in Clinton, MO to Gene Edward Willcockson and Ruby Helen Chambers. Susie graduated from Leeton High School in Leeton, MO in 1976 and MSSU Police Academy, Joplin, MO in 1993. On November 27, 2005, Susie married William Aaron Griffitt in Lamar, MO.  Susie worked as a Certified Nurse Aide at Truman Healthcare and Rehab in Lamar, MO. Susie loved animals, especially her Great Dane "Gracie". She also enjoyed gardening and tending to her flowers and she loved fishing and camping with Bill.Survivors include her husband, Bill Griffitt of the home; two sons, Nick (Melissa) Fanning, Lamar, Jeremiah Fanning, Springfield, MO, and a step-son, Aaron (Nelly) Griffitt of Lamar; one brother, Larry (Yvonne) Willcockson, Albuquerque, NM; two sisters, Shirley Willcockson, Springfield, MO and Cheryl (Joe) Anstine, Chilhowee, MO. Susie is also survived by five grandchildren; Olivia Fanning, Lane Fanning, Cody Fanning, Trenton Fanning and Hailey Griffitt along with several nieces and nephews.Preceding  Susie in death were her parents. Graveside services will be at 10:00 am Tuesday, June 25, 2019, at Mineral Creek Cemetery in Leeton, Missouri.The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 pm , Monday, June 24, 2019 at Daniel Funeral Home.Contributions are suggested and made payable to American Cancer Society in care of Daniel Funeral Home. Condolences may be shared at www.dfhlamar.com
