Remembering Stephen B. Fuhr, R.N.
Stephen Burhans Fuhr, R.N. passed gracefully on November 16, 2016 surrounded by his loved ones.
Over Steve’s life he has consistently done what is right. As a young man, Steve joined the Army in 1967 to fight in Vietnam becoming Staff Sargent Stephen B. Fuhr. Known as “Doc” he worked with the Vietnamese villagers as a combat medic with his Brothers in Arms and received multiple commendations.
Steve returned home and began his life-long career of learning. Earning Bachelor’s Degrees in Psychology and Education, Steve found his calling as an R.N. working in the health care field for more than 30 years. With the help of his beloved collogues Steve initiated programs and services directed towards healing those who could not heal themselves.
A hero, Steve has served his family just as he served his country, with strength, patience, and compassion. Steve welcomed all people as friends, with love and laughter and was actively engaged within his community, seeking to ignite passion, and understanding for all.
His extracurricular activity list was extensive and well-rounded including his love of music, art, nature, travel and most importantly, family. Steve was as wise man. Steve was a kind man. Steve was a good man and he will be greatly missed by all who have experienced the warmth of his smile.
Peace.
