Skye Delane Cox, age 39, of Lamar, Missouri, passed away March 22, 2026, in Hutschenhausen, Germany, where she was proudly serving with the United States Air Force.
Skye was born January 24, 1987, in Nevada, Missouri, to David W. Cox Sr. and C. Elaine Cline.
Skye faithfully served her country in the United States Air Force since 2007, holding the position of Aircraft Fuels System Craftsman. She was deeply dedicated to her service and took great pride in her military career.
Skye loved spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed the outdoors and could often be found fishing, hunting, riding horses, snorkeling, and snowboarding with her son, Maddox. She also cherished time spent walking her beloved dogs, Pearl and Riot.
Survivors include her wife, Katie Cox; her son, Maddox Ivan James Cox; her mother, Elaine Cline, her father, David W. Cox Sr and his wife Tricia .; two brothers, Seth Cline and David Cox II; five sisters, Laresa Lathrop, Beth Lawrence, Rachel Cox Hyder and husband Jason, Hannah Cox, and Sarah Johnston and husband Chris; four nephews, Chace Lawrence, Lane Hyder, Roper York, and Dean Lathrop; five nieces, Paisley Hyder, Layla Hyder, Mariah Lathrop, Raegan Lathrop, and Lavenia-Rose Cline; and her grandmother, Patricia Middleton.
Skye was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Eldon Hites, Vern Cox and Danny Middleton Sr.; her grandmothers, Vica Cox and Emily Blanchard and her husband Kenneth Blanchard; a nephew, Matthew Lawrence; and a niece, Lyric Hyder.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 4, 2026, at Daniel Funeral Home in Lamar, Missouri. Burial will follow at Sheldon Cemetery in Sheldon, Missouri, with full military honors.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Friday, April 3, 2026, at the funeral home.
