Shirley McIntyre

Shirley Ann McIntyre, age 87, of Lockwood, MO passed away July 6, 2020, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, MO.   Shirley was born October 6, 1932 in rural Barton County, MO to Rosco and Nellie Walker. She  married Duane Eugene McIntyre and together they raised two children. She was a homemaker and had worked at O'Sullivan Industries in Lamar, MO and Cooky's Cafe in Golden City, MO. Shirley enjoyed knitting and gathering with the ladies at the Lockwood First Baptist Church to make quilts, where she was a member.   Survivors include a son Kenneth (Carol) McIntyre, Lockwood, MO; two sisters, Ruthy (Rod) Hendrickson, Carthage, MO and Leona Troop, Kansas City, MO; six grandchildren, Dexter (Christy) McIntyre, Morrisville, MO, Reginald (Shelly) McIntyre, Willard, MO, Justin (Crystal) McIntyre, Lockwood, MO, Quinten (Marti) McIntyre, Leedey, OK, Kristie Kent, Holden, MO and Stephen Kent, Kansas City, MO; and several great-grandchildren.   Preceding Shirley in death were her husband Duane McIntyre; a daughter Sharon Kent; three brothers, Lloyd, Leonard and Gene Walker.   A graveside service will be held  at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 9, 2020 at Pippenger Cemetery, Lockwood, MO.   Contributions are suggested and made payable to the Alzheimer's Association in care of Daniel Funeral Home.   Condolences may be shared at www.dfhlamar.com
