Ruth Bell

Ruth Potter Bell, age 93, of Milford, Missouri passed away peacefully on November 13, 2020, at her home.          Ruth was born October 1,1927 in Lamar, Missouri. to P.L. and Mary (Burt) Potter. Ruth graduated from Liberal High School in the class of 1945. On January 10, 1947, Ruth married Orville Raymond Bell Sr. in Lamar. They raised their four children in the Midwest while Orville worked in the oilfields until his retirement in 1972 when they returned to Lamar.   Ruth retired from O'Sullivan Industries after 19 years of service. Ruth and Orville were founding members of Cornerstone Baptist Church where she was involved in sewing dresses for missions in South America as well as making quilts for veterans at Missouri Veterans Home in Mt. Vernon, Missouri. Ruth was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.   Survivors include one son; Orville R. (Karen) Bell Jr., Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, three daughters; Diana D. Bell, Lamar, Barbara S. (Bryan) McKnight, Coppell, Texas and Joyce A. (Jon) DeMent, Milford, Missouri, two sisters; Deane (Phil) Corn, Boulder, Colorado and Ann Potter, Carthage, Missouri. Ruth was Grandmother to eight grandchildren; Sumere (Fred) Herrera, Jamie DeMent, Douglass (Dree) DeMent, Amanda (J.B.) Presley, Chris McKnight, Kyle DeMent, Shala Price and Taylor (Michele) McKnight and Gramme to 11 great-grandchildren and was loved by many nieces and nephews.   Preceding Ruth in death were her husband; Orville, her parents; a daughter; Louise, five sisters; Mary, Martha, Kate, Sarah, Jessie and four brothers; John, Jack, Bert and Charlie.   Graveside services will be at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 18th, 2020 at Collins Cemetery in Lockwood, Missouri.   Contributions are suggested and made payable to Collins Cemetery in care of Daniel Funeral Home.   Condolences may be shared at www.dfhlamar.com
