Rosemary Anna (Rickert) Peters, age 87, died Sunday, August 24, 2014 at Truman Healthcare Center in Lamar, MO, where she had been a resident since October, 2013. Mrs. Peters was born on September 21, 1926, in St. Louis, MO, the fifth child, to William Henry Rickert and Elizabeth Louise (Bollwerk) Rickert.  She was raised and went to school in St. Louis, MO.  She attended K through 12th grade at St. Anthony’s School and graduated in 1944.  On April 28, 1951, she married August Edgar Peters.  She worked at a telegraph company and Federal Reserve Bank before becoming a mother.  August and Rosemary made their home in St. Ann, MO until 1965 when they moved to Lamar, MO.  She enjoyed crafts, sewing, cooking, and raising a family.  She very much enjoyed seeing her kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids. She had been a member of St. Louis Columbus Girls Drill Team, Also Rosemary had been a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, a member of St. Mary’s Alter Society, a member of Church Women United, a member of Ladies Auxiliary Club of Knights of Columbus, a den mother for Cub Scouts, and a Pleasant Hill Homemakers Club member, all in Lamar, MO.. Mrs. Peters also worked at the voting polls in Lamar. Mrs. Peters is survived by six sons, Dale (Delores) Peters, Daniel  (Jill) Peters, Lamar, MO, Dennis Peters, Pittsburg, KS, Douglas Peters, Smyrna, TN, Dean (Kelli) Peters, Liberty Hill, TX, Andrew (Jan) Peters, Springfield, MO; two daughters, Susanne (Terry) Perelman, Henderson, NV and Jeanne (Dean) Buffington, Chinook, MT; sixteen grandchildren, Levi (Amy) Peters, Lindsey  (Greg) Williams, Lisa Peters, Jenny Peters, Matthew (Olivia) Peters, Ryan Peters, Sean Peters, Megan Peters, Amanda (Scott) Shapiro, Natalie Peters, Philip Perelman, Dylan Perelman, Jamal Kasem, Charis (Jeff) Harrison, Ethan Buffington, James Buffington; four great-grandsons, Jackson and Tyler Williams, Reuben Peters, and Joseph Peters; a sister Elsie Calabreese; a brother, Joseph Rickert; extended family, friends and neighbors. Mrs. Peters was preceded in death by her father, William Rickert; her mother, Elizabeth Rickert; five brothers; two sisters; and infant daughter, Deborah Jane Peters, and her husband of 62 years preceded her in death on February 21, 2014. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 am Friday, August 29, 2014 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, with burial to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6:00 to 7:00 pm Thursday at Daniel Funeral Home. Contributions are suggested to St. Mary’s Catholic Church in care of Daniel Funeral Home.
