Ronald Eugene Charlton, age 82, of Liberal, Missouri passed away on Saturday, October 31st, 2020.   Ron was born November 3, 1937 in Liberal, MO to Archie Charlton and Blossom (Cunninham) Charlton. Ron graduated from Liberal High School in the class of 1955, followed by two years at what is now Pittsburg State University. On January 25, 1958, Ron married Barbara Brooks in Miami, Oklahoma.   Ron and Barbara moved to Wichita, Kansas in 1958 where he worked at Beach Aircraft until they moved back to Liberal in 1960 and purchased the farm on which he resided and ran until his passing. On his return to Liberal, Ron farmed and raised cattle in addition to working at Lawn-Boy followed by Mackie Coal Mine until he retired in the late 1990's. Ron enjoyed fishing, hunting reading and many trips over the years with his sweetheart, friends and family. He enjoyed time with family, especially time spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Ron was a Mason and was a member and elder of the Christian Church of Liberal, where he also taught Sunday School and nothing made him happier than having a new soul brought to Christ. He rarely missed morning coffee with good friends at Mary's Flower Cart Cafe in Liberal.    Survivors include his wife Barbara, two sons; Mark Charlton of Liberal and Jay Charlton of Pittsburg, KS, four grandchildren; Matt (Debre') Charlton, John (Trinity) Charlton, Roqhelle (Jim) Cobb and George Charlton, seven great-grandchildren; Zoey, George, Jaelynn, Caliger, Tannen, Ayla and Zach. Ron was the middle child of three boys and is also survived by his brothers; James Charlton and Gary Charlton and several brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, nephews and nieces.   Preceding Ronald in death were his parents and his son Dougie Charlton.   Graveside services will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, November 6, 2020, at Barton City Cemetery in Liberal, MO.   Contributions are suggested and made payable to the March of Dimes in care of Daniel Funeral Home.
