Robert Ward Rogers, age 48, of Lamar,
passed away Tuesday, November 11,
2008.
Bobby was born August 13, 1960, in Lamar, to James and Vera “Babe”
(Blanchard) Rogers. He grew up in Lamar
and had worked as a roughneck in the oil fields of Oklahoma. In July of 2008, he moved back to Lamar from Kansas
City. Robert
was an avid fisherman and loved animals, especially his dogs. He
enjoyed any activity that could be shared with his nieces and nephews.
Survivors include his parents, Jim &
Babe Rogers, Lamar; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Steve & Cindy Rogers,
North Kansas City, Missouri, and Russ & Rhonda Rogers, Independence,
Missouri; three sisters, Paula Dixon, Lamar, Pat Rogers, Rogers, Arkansas, and
Sharon & husband David Martin, Grapevine, Texas; five nephews, Case
Dighero, Chris Dixon, Stevie Rogers, Eric Rogers, & Ryan Martin; seven
nieces and their husbands, Heather & Wes Harris, Amanda & Scott
Kentner, Megan & Cody McCollough, Mandy & Kevin Sellmeyer, Shannon
& Vince Peisert, Holly Shay & Fernando Mendez, and Nicole Solomon; six
great-nephews, Jordon, Austin, & Daniel Sellmeyer, Josh Goodridge, Andrew
Mendez, and Jack Solomon; nine great-nieces, Madison & Savannah Peisert,
Sicily & Eliza Kentner, Lily, Georgi, & Anders Dighero, Hailey
Goodridge, and Rorie McCollough.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Grace
Lutheran Church
in Lamar with Rev. Galen Friedrichs officiating.
Memorial contributions are suggested to
Grace Lutheran Church Scholarship Fund or the Leon Owen Scholarship Fund in
care of the Daniel Funeral Home.
