Robert Raines, Jr.

Robert Maurice Raines, Jr. age 54, of Lamar, Missouri, died unexpectedly at his home, Wednesday, April 13, 2016.      Robert was born July 1, 1961 at Jefferson City, Missouri to Robert Maurice Raines Sr. and Loretta Louise (Bemboom) Raines.  He attended Stockton High School and was a driver for Murphy Farms for 13 years. Robert had also worked at the Nevada Walmart before becoming disabled.  He loved NASCAR and dirt track racing as well as the outdoors and fishing.      On April 10, 2001 he married Sheryl Brockman at Lamar, Missouri and she survives.  Also surviving are his mother, Loretta Penner of Lamar; three sisters, Victoria Mossack, Robin Spencer (Bryan Stewart) of Lamar, and Mary McWilliams of Lamar; several nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews; cousins; sister-in-law Shelly Gibbs (Willie Hastings); and brother-in-law Jeff (Becky) Brockman.      Preceding him in death were his father Robert M. Raines Sr. and a sister Maxine Grayson.      A gathering to celebrate Robert’s life will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday, April 17th at Daniel Funeral Home.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until service time Sunday at the funeral home.      Private family burial will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery.      Memorial contributions are suggested to Robert Raines Jr. family in care of Daniel Funeral Home.
