Nancy Ann Cass, age 74, of Joplin, Missouri, passed away early Wednesday morning, January 24, 2018, at her home.      Nancy was born April 22, 1943, in Lamar Missouri, first of the four children of John Howard and Mary (Harman) Phipps. She grew up on the family farm near Irwin and graduated from Lamar High School in 1961.      On June 25, 1961, at Lamar, Nancy married her high school sweetheart, Billy Bob Cass and they made their home and farmed in Barton County for several years before moving to Joplin. In addition to being a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Nancy was a devout Christian and gifted Bible teacher and speaker who enjoyed the fellowship of her friends and sisters in AGLOW and Ladies of the Lord. A hospitable homemaker and wonderful cook, her door was always open and her warm smile welcomed family and friends around her table. Nancy was an avid antique collector enjoyed making a wide array of ceramics.      Nancy was preceded in death by parents and her children, Brad Cass and Amy Jo Ortega.      Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Billy Bob, of the home; a daughter-in-law, Kim Cass-Vaught and her husband Joel of Springdale, Arkansas; a son-in-law, James Ortega of Joplin; three grandchildren, Jonathan Cass, Cassie (Brandon) Gallemore, and Kaleb Rakes; a brother, Gary (Lois) Phipps, Joplin; two sisters, Linda (Gary) Colin, Lamar, and Janis Priest, Joplin; and a large extended family.      Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 27th at Daniel Funeral Home with burial in Nigh Cemetery northeast of Lamar.      Memorial contributions are suggested to Nigh Cemetery in care of the funeral home.      Nancy Ann Cass, age 74, of Joplin, Missouri, passed away early Wednesday morning, January 24, 2018, at her home.      Nancy was born April 22, 1943, in Lamar Missouri, first of the four children of John Howard and Mary (Harman) Phipps.
