Mary Elizabeth Jones

Mary Elizabeth (Gilden) Jones, age 95 of Lamar, Missouri passed away Friday, August 7th, 2020 at Truman Healthcare and Rehabilitation in Lamar, Missouri.   Mary was born April 9, 1925 to James W. Gilden and Mildred C. (Davis) Gilden in Graden Springs, MO. She married William H. (Bill) Jones on October 18, 1942 and together they had three children.   Mary was a homemaker, loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was a long time member of the Milford Christian Church. Mary loved cooking, gardening (sharing her produce) and canning. She also liked to do embroidery work on long winter days.   Survivors include one son; Mike (Terri) Jones, two daughters; LaWalta (Terry) Johnston and Willa Mae Owen all of Lamar, MO; eight grandchildren; Dana (Jason) Evans, Deana LeGrand, Terry Don Jr. (Kim) Johnston, Amanda Jones, Kimberley Gastel, Michael Jones, Randy Schlichting (Matt Francisco) and Dusty Schlichting, as well as numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.   Preceding Mary in death were her husband; parents; five brothers; five sisters; one grandson and one son-in-law.   A Graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 11, 2020, at Memory Gardens Cemetery, Lamar, MO.   Contributions are suggested and made payable to Cookson Hills Christian School in care of Daniel Funeral Home.
