Marjorie Faulkner

Marjorie Faulkner      Marjorie F. Faulkner, age 92, of Lamar, passed away Tuesday, July 21, 2009 at Barton County Memorial Hospital.        Marj was born August 23, 1916, at Lamar, to Charles and Mattie (Mitchell) Gould.  After graduating from Lamar High School in 1934, she earned a degree in cosmetology in Kansas City.  In addition to being a devoted wife, mother and homemaker, Marjorie owned and operated Marjorie’s Beauty Salon for 64 years, retiring in 1998. Always active in the community, Marjorie was a member of several bridge clubs, the Lamar Country Club, Lamar Art League, and Lamar United Methodist Church.       On December 30, 1939 she married Lloyd Main and he preceded her in death May 28, 1964.  She later married F.W. “Bud” Faulkner, who died July 25, 1977.  She was also preceded in death by her parents, Charles & Mattie Gould; three brothers, Raymond, Jay, and Eddie Gould, and a sister, Helen Gould.             Survivors include three children and their spouses, Marilyn & John Moore, Tom & Gale Main, Mike & Dianne Main,  all of Lamar; a step-son, Dean & wife Vonnie Main, Lamar; seven grandchildren, Julie & husband Bob Petersen, Jeff & wife Susan Moore, Doug & wife Frankie Main, Melissa & husband Kent Morey, Brandon Main, Mallory Main and Brian Main; three step-grandchildren, Mark Main & wife Julie, Marla Foreman & husband Chet, and Lynette Brous & husband Trevin; 15 great-grandchildren; and five step-great-grandchildren..        Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 24th at Lamar Family Ministries Center with Bob Petersen, Doug Main, and Rev. Don Keithly officiating.  Burial will be in Lake Cemetery.        The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Daniel Funeral Home.        Memorial contributions are suggested to Gideons International or the charity of the donor’s choice in care of Daniel Funeral Home.        This obituary may be viewed and condolences sent at www.danielfuneralhome.net
