Marion Lee Giger

Marion Lee Giger, age 89, of Lamar, Missouri passed away Friday, May 1, 2020, at Freeman Hospital West, Joplin, Missouri after a short illness.   Marion was born October 26, 1930 in Irwin, Missouri, to Grover Marion Giger and Theo (Riddle) Giger. On September 17, 1954, Marion married Leila Ellen Clark in Kenoma, Missouri.   Marion worked as a crop and cattle farmer and also worked as a stomp shear operator at Thorco retiring in 2000. He was a member of the Lamar VFW.   Survivors include his wife, Leila; a son, Richard Giger (Derelene Knight), Lamar, Missouri; son-in-law, Dean Braudaway; six grandchildren, Dusty (Amy) Giger, Josh (Brenna) Giger, Austin Phipps, Casey (Jo) Phipps, Brent (Amy) Phipps and Justin Braudaway as well as six great-grandchildren.   Preceding him in death were his parents; a daughter, Joyce Braudaway; one brother and three sisters.   Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 6, 2020, at Daniel Funeral Home with burial to follow in Sheldon Cemetery.   Condolences may be shared at www.dfhlamar.com
