Lyle R. Moss

Lyle Rolland Moss, age 82, of Lamar, passed away Sunday, September 13, 2009 while fishing in western Barton County.        Lyle was born November 27, 1926, at Ridgeway, Missouri, to Dorrel & Mabel (Morris) Moss.  He graduated from Raymore High School and entered the U.S. Army in 1945. Returning to the states after World War II, Lyle began his career as an interior design engineer with Boeing Aircraft in Seattle, Washington.  After 30 years of service, Lyle retired in 1982.  Following the death of his wife, Lilly, he moved to Lamar in 2004 to be near family.  He enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid fisherman.        Survivors include his brother, Donald Moss a nephew, Darrell & wife Cheri Moss all of Lamar; three nieces and their husbands, Linda & Leon Bishop, Lamar, Earline & Vern Hart, Mulberry, Kansas, and Karen & Hank Gioia, Kansas City, Missouri.        Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Daniel Funeral Home with Leon Bishop officiating.  Burial will be in Riverton Crest Cemetery in Seattle, Washington on Friday.        Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society in care of Daniel Funeral Home.
