Lois V. Baird

Lois V. Baird, age 81, of Jasper, Missouri peacefully passed on to be with her heavenly Father surrounded by a multitude of family and friends on December 27, 2019 at Mercy Hospital in Carthage, Missouri.   Lois was born July 23, 1938 in Carthage, MO. to LeRoy Etcheson and Mary Mae Engle. On June 21, 1959, Lois married Paul Allen Baird Jr. in Nashville, MO., and together they lived in numerous locations while Paul was stationed in the Navy.   Lois worked as a nurse with the Sisters of Mercy and retired from Freeman O.R. in 2018.   Survivors include one son, Mark Baird, Jasper, MO; two daughters, Paula Colley, Miller, MO and Tammy (Tom) Noland, Parsons, Kansas; one brother, Sammy Jr. Etcheson, Alba, MO; eight grandchildren, Louis Conard, Sarah Callaway, Mary Jo Barnes, Elizabeth (Susie) Colley, Rachel Colley, Stephanie Jackson, Garret Noland and Fisher Noland; along with eight great-grandchildren.   Preceding Lois in death were her parents; her husband; four brothers; Leroy Etcheson Jr., Virgil Etcheson, Robert (Bill) Etcheson, and Luther (Dutch) Etcheson; two sisters, Viola Wardlow and Martha Condon; one grandson, Greg Jackson; one great-grandson, Colton Jackson; and one great-granddaughter, Viola Colley.   Funeral services will be Tuesday, December 31, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Nashville Christian Church with burial to follow at Waters Cemetery.   The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, Monday, December 30, 2019 at the Lamar Christian Church.   Contributions are suggested and made payable to Freeman O.R. Nursing Education Fund in care of Daniel Funeral Home.
