Linda S. Gant

Linda Sue Gant Smith, age 70, of Lamar, Missouri passed Thursday, April 6, 2017 at Truman Healthcare Center, after a long illness.      Linda was born July 31, 1946 in Lockwood, Missouri to John Laytham Tindill and Ruby May (Gibson) Tindill.  After graduating High School, she furthered her education in nursing.  She married Charles Arthur Smith and he preceded her in death.  She was a homemaker, a devout Christian who enjoyed helping others and was a loving mother and grandmother.  She enjoyed writing and fishing.      Survivors include a son, Charles F. Smith; a step-daughter, Tuesday Carroll; and two grandchildren, Charles F. Smith Jr., and Kamron Smith.      Preceding her in death, in addition to her first husband, Charles Arthur Smith, were her second husband, Marvin E. Gant, her parents; a brother, John Tindill; two sisters, Judy Tindill and June Scott; and a step-son Ernie Smith.      Services will be 2:00 pm Friday, April 28, 2017 at Daniel Funeral Home.  A private family burial will be in Collins Cemetery.
