Linda Kay Duncan

Linda Kay Duncan, age 66, a lifetime resident of Lamar passed away February 4, 2013 of a long term illness. Linda was born July 24, 1946 to Art and Nadene (Dennis) Cornell in Lamar, MO.  She graduated Lamar High School in 1964 and on November 19, 1965 she married Loren Wayne Duncan at Golden City, MO.  Linda was a loving mother and grandmother. She was a member of Lamar United Methodist Church and also the Joy Class at the church.  She loved to travel, go camping, fish, see hot air balloons, crochet, and play pitch and solitaire; she had also worked for many years at O’Sullivan Industries. She also loved flowers and a little yellow slug bug. Linda is survived by her husband Wayne of the home; one son and three daughters, Dennis & Heather Duncan, Lori & Matt Miller, Melissa McKarus, and Renee & Vaughn Stephen all of Lamar; 11 grandchildren, Emmy Todd, Brenyn Jungmann, Stuart McKarus, Rein, Lexy, & Brayden Stephen, Britni, Brantley, Bayli, Bryli, & Kahlen Duncan; one brother Harold & Brenda Cornell, and one sister, Brenda Rhine all of Lamar. Preceding her in death are her father Art Cornell, stepfather Robert Embry, mother Nadene Embry and a brother Artie Cornell. Funeral Service will be 2:00 pm Thursday February 7, 2013 at Lamar United Methodist Church with Dr. Barry Winders officiating.  Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Contributions can be made to Lamar United Methodist Church Children’s Ministries in care of Daniel Funeral Home.
