Linda Jean Claypool

Linda Jean (McBee) Claypool, age 73, of Lamar, Missouri, passed away on May 19, 2025, at Spring River Christian Village in Joplin, Missouri.

Linda was born on March 18, 1952, in Winfield, Kansas, to Bobbie Dale McBee and Doris Jean (Sandlin) McBee. On May 12, 1971, she was united in marriage to Keith Owen Claypool in Lamar, Missouri.

Linda worked as a sales associate at Wal-Mart and was a devoted member of the Church of Christ. She had a deep love for reading and traveling, and she will be remembered for her kind spirit and love for her family.

She is survived by her son, Brian Claypool and his wife Rachel of Lamar, MO; her daughter, Becky Compton and her husband Dave of Joplin, MO; seven grandchildren, Baylee (Quintin) Ausemus, Bryce (Amara) Claypool, Dustin Nance, Erica (Joey) Blackwood, Coltin Nance, Jeana Compton, and Daniel Compton; one great-grandchild, Tyler Wayne Ausemus; and two sisters, Karen (Jeff) Dimond and Sharon (Doug) Parker, all of Lamar, MO.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband, Keith.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at Daniel Funeral Home, with burial to follow in Iantha Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., prior to the service at the funeral home.
