Laurel Herbinger

Laurel Nell Herbinger, age 87, passed away at her home, Wednesday, May 16, 2018.       Laurel was born March 8, 1931 in Colby, Kansas to Charles Adrian and Iva Kathryn (Newell) Humphrey.  She graduated Lamar High School on 1949 and attended Cosmetology School.  On June 8, 1976, she married Jack D. Herbinger in Miami, Oklahoma.          For over 20 years, Laurel worked as a beautician, operating the Hair Pin Hut, owned and operated Crafts & Things for several years, and had worked at the Sears Store in Kansas City for 18 years. Laurel was an avid flower gardener as well and loved bowling.      Laurel leaves behind her husband of nearly 42 years; a son, Tom (Pam) Gartman, Lamar, Missouri; two daughters, Theresa (David) Swank, Sugar Creek, Missouri and Joy (Doug) Blankinship, Independence, Missouri; two step-sons, Tony Herbinger, Pittsburg, Kansas and Rick Herbinger, Tennessee; one step-daughter, Marcy Higgins, South Hutchison, Kansas; grandchildren, Beth Wilson, Andy Cavanaugh, Nici Hulett, Allison Swank, Jamie Leavell, Steven Blankinship, Adam Blankinship, Ryan Gartman, Alexis Gartman, Brooke McClane, Chase McClane, Karah McClane and Eddie Ray Williams; great-grandchildren, Austin Brothers, Ian Wilson, Blake Cavanaugh, Waylon Cavanaugh, Maggie Hulett, Skylar Hulett, Tanner Hulett, Katie Cavanaugh Christopher Cavanaugh, Caleb Cavanaugh, Cedric Gartman, Kylee Cavanaugh, John Gartman, Paisley Weis, Koby Dernier, Kadence Limpus, Harrison Blankinship, Aiden Leavell, Ryley Leavell, Kale Leavell, Jackson Williams and Justice Williams; and one sister, Arietta Mallory, Louisburg, Kansas.      Preceding her in death were her parents; a daughter Robin Marti; a brother; Ray Humphrey; a sister Linda Mix; a grandson, Jeffrey Cavanaugh; a daughter-in-law, Samantha Gartman; and a step daughter, Jan Marie Rush.     Funeral service will be 2:00 pm Sunday, May 20, 2018 at Daniel Funeral Home.  The family will receive friends 1:00 until service time Sunday.       Burial will be 11:00 am, Monday, May 21, 2018 at Memory Gardens Cemetery.      Contributions are suggested to Alzheimer’s Association in care of Daniel Funeral Home.      Condolences may be shared at www.danielfuneralhome.net
