Kenneth Doyle

Kenneth J. Doyle, age 87, of Lamar, passed away Thursday, October 22, 2009, at Barton County Memorial Hospital following a long illness.        Kenneth was born September 25, 1922, in the Boston community of Barton County, to John and Myrtle (Parnell) Doyle.  He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.  Kenneth was a self-employed roofer and painter in the Carthage area for many years.  He was a member of Lamar V.F.W. Post 3691 and Lamar Church of Christ.        On April 20, 1944, in Springfield, Illinois, Kenneth married Frances “Dot” Buckus, and she survives, of the home.  Also surviving are a sister, Juanita Wilson, Wichita, Kansas; and several nephews and nieces.  He was preceded in death by an infant daughter; three brothers, Roy, John, and Shorty; and three sisters, Wilma Sheets, Ethel Hayes, and Lola Medina.       Open visitation will be from noon until 5:00 p.m. Friday, October 23rd at Daniel Funeral Home.  A private committal service will be held at Howell Cemetery at a later date.        This obituary may be viewed and condolences sent at www.danielfuneralhome.net
