Karen Mallumian Arnold

Karen Kay Mallumian Arnold, age 67, of Lamar, died Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at Barton County Memorial Hospital. Karen was born August 31, 1946 at West Plains, MO to Winfred Calder and Irene Caroline (Hobart) Sharp.  She worked for the Barton County Ambulance District as an EMT from 1975 to 1980 and as a Paramedic from 1980 through 1985. After earning a degree in nursing from Missouri Southern State College in 1986, Karen began her  twenty year career as a Nurse/Manager at Barton County Memorial Hospital, first in labor, delivery, and nursery, then the Emergency Department.  On September 17, 2005, at Springfield, Missouri, Karen married Kenneth Arnold.  After retiring in 2006, she was able to devote time to her interest in genealogy. She enjoyed traveling with Kenneth, and they especially loved cruises. Karen is survived by her husband, Kenneth; two daughters, Sam & Aaron Brown, Joplin, MO and Beth & Todd McCoy, Mountain Home, AR; two step-sons, James & Monica Arnold, Wichita, KS and Charles Arnold, Springfield, MO; a step-daughter, Melody & Jimmy Clark, Frostproof, FL; one brother, Tom & Sherry Sharp, Greenfield, MO; grandchildren, Sarah, Brent & Becky, Noah & Caroline, Kaleb, Kyle, Emily, Elizabeth, SaMara, Celses, Dawson, Hunter & Charlie; great-grandchildren, Hailey & Sierra; aunt & uncle, Ross & Skeeter Weaver; and cousin/sister Aneta Gay Downey. Memorial Service will be 1:00 pm Saturday, October 26, 2013 at Daniel FuneralHome with Rev. Mark Garfield officiating. Contributions are suggested to Gina Sharp Scholarship Fund PSU in care of Daniel Funeral Home. Condolences may be left at www.danielfuneralhome.net
