June Miles

Wanda "June" Miles, age 89, of Lamar, Missouri passed away February 8, 2022, at Good Shepherd Community Care and Rehabilitation in Lockwood, Missouri.   June was born June 7, 1932 in Jerico Springs, Missouri, to Carrol Jay Higgns and Elsie (Burk) Higgins. June graduated from El Dorado Springs High School. On January 26, 1952, June married Louie Joyce Miles in Eureka Springs, Arkansas.   June worked as a CNA, Med Tech and Activities Director at Truman Healthcare,                where she worked for 47 years. June moved to Lamar in 2000 from a farm near Sylvania. She was devoted to her family and her work. June was a great cook and all of her relatives remember her home-cooked green beans and homemade noodles.   Survivors include two daughters; Judy (Andy) Easson of Lawton, Oklahoma and Joy Miles of Lamar, five grandchildren; Josh Weimer (Annie Moore), Jared (Jennifer) Weimer, Brandon Easson, Jordan (Elena) Easson and Jacob (Kari) Easson, eight great-grandchildren; Dylan Weimer, Henry Easson, Morgan Weimer, Rylie Weimer, Sydnie Weimer, Chloe Weimer, Blair Easson and Zoe Easson, three sisters-in-law; Lorene Higgins, Nellie Higgins and Mary Ann Higgins, all of Lamar, two brothers-in-law; Ted Miles of Rich Hill, Missouri and Kenneth (Janet) Miles of Lamar, along with many nieces and nephews.   June was preceded in death by her husband, one son, Jody Miles, a grandson, Chance Kentner, her parents, seven brothers, and three sisters-in-laws.   A graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, February 12, 2022 at Greenfield Cemetery in Jerico Springs, Missouri.   The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m., Saturday, February 12, 2022 at Daniel Funeral Home in Lamar, MO.   Contributions are suggested and made payable to Truman Health and Rehabilitation or the American Cancer Society in care of Daniel Funeral Home.   Condolences may be shared at www.dfhlamar.com
