Jeff Phipps

Jeffrey Allan Phipps, age 62, of Lamar, Missouri passed away August 7, 2021, at South Baldwin Regional Medical Center in Foley, Alabama. Jeff was born December 22, 1958 in Lamar, MO to Arthur Dale Phipps and Allene Marie (Braker) Phipps. On March 16, 1979, Jeff married Margaret Ann Tummons in Lamar, MO. Jeff attended Lamar High School and Vo-Tech, graduating in the class of 1977. He competed and won many automotive contests. Jeff's skill and passion for cars led him into the automotive business. He first worked as a mechanic and then spent most of his career in auto parts sales. Jeff and his wife Margaret owned and operated Phipps Auto Supply. They also co-owned a used car lot with Jeff's brother. In recent years, Jeff worked at Bumper to Bumper until his retirement due to health issues.Survivors include his wife Margaret, one son, Eric Phipps and one daughter, Letitia (Greg) Jewell, all of Lamar, three grandchildren; Christopher (Shannon) Jewell of Holden, Missouri, Mariah (Tyler) Jewell, of Blue Springs, Missouri and Dominic Jewell of Lamar, MO, one great-grandchild, Baby Jewell due March 2022, his mother, Allene Phipps, one brother, Anthony (Henri) Phipps of Carthage, Missouri, two sisters; Kay (Tim) Timmons of Lamar, MO, and Myra (Jason) Percy of Carthage, MO.Jeff was preceded in death by his father Dale, and his in-laws, Marcus and Lois Tummons. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 14, 2021, at Daniel Funeral Home with burial to follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery.The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m., until service time, Saturday at the funeral home.Contributions are suggested and made payable to the American Heart Association or the National Kidney Foundation in care of Daniel Funeral Home. Condolences may be shared at www.dfhlamar.com
