Janetta M. Furdaus, age 50, of Lamar,
passed away Friday, November 28, 2008,
at St. John’s Regional
Medical Center
in Joplin.
Janetta was born February 3, 1958, in Wallace,
Idaho, to William James and Jean (Silvey) Pierce. She moved with her family to Missouri
where she attended Alba and Webb City
schools. On March 19, 1996, at Miami,
Oklahoma, Janetta married Billy Furdaus and
they made their home in Lamar. In
addition to being a homemaker, Janetta had worked at O’Sullivan Industries in
Lamar and Leggett & Platt in Carthage. She attended Oakton
United Methodist
Church. Janetta loved animals and was an avid
birdwatcher.
Survivors include her husband, Bill, of
the home; her father, William Pierce, Neck City; a son and daughter-in-law,
Kaleb & Sabrina Pierce, Joplin; a step-daughter, Leslie & husband Jerry
Griffitt, Lamar; four brothers and their wives, Bill & Janeene Pierce,
Carthage, Rick & Carla Pierce, Neck City, Gary & Jo Pierce, Purcell, Ed
& Gina Pierce, Neck City; a sister, Kim & husband Rick Lancaster, Neck
City; a step-granddaughter, Joycelyn Griffitt; numerous nephews and nieces; and
a large extended family.
Janetta was preceded in death by her
mother, Jean Pierce and a sister, Brenda Jankowski.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 2nd at
Daniel Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 6:00 until 7:00
p.m. Monday. Burial will be
in Lake Cemetery.
