James "Jim" LeRoy Graves Sr., age 74, of Humansville, Missouri passed away August 7, 2021, at Citizens Memorial Hospital in Bolivar, Missouri.
Jim was born September 14, 1946 in Okoboji, Iowa to LeRoy William Graves and Darlene Lucille (Buchholz) Graves. Jim graduated from Arnolds Park High School in the class of 1965. On November 18, 1967, Jim married Connie Mae Swanson in Arnolds Park, Iowa. Jim served in the United States Navy and served in the Vietnam War from 1966-1967. He moved to Lamar, Missouri in August of 1979 and then moved they moved to Humansville, Missouri after his retirement in 2018.
Jim worked as a production lead at Eagle Picher in Pittsburg, Kansas. He was a member of the Lamar Lions Club and the Lamar VFW. Jim loved to fish, making pens, hunting, woodworking, cars, car shows, sprint car racing and loved being on his tractor, especially giving his great-grandbabies a ride. He was a hard working man , always ready to help anyone and loved his family with all of his heart, he was a very amazing man, know matter what he always knew how to help or listen. He was more than just our Dad, he was the safety of any storm and our hero.
Survivors include his wife Connie, two sons; James Jr. "Jim" (Teresa) of Lamar, Missouri and Marc (Sherri) of Franklin, Kansas, one daughter; Terri (Troy) Kirkpatrick of Lamar, Missouri, 13 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and one sister Sandi Lancaster of Hemit, California.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents and one sister Leanne Brink.
Private family services will be held.
