Jackie Morgan

Jackie Irene Morgan, age 64, of Lamar, entered eternal peace at her home, surrounded by her family and friends, Thursday, November 7, 2013. Jackie was born May 16, 1949 at Lamar to Jack & Zelda (Hosselton) Metsinger.  She attended school in Lamar and graduated in 1968. On June 28, 1968, she married Jim Morgan at Lamar.  They made their home in the Oakton Community continuing the family farm.  They were blessed with two children, a son Jason Morgan and wife Angie of Lamar, a daughter, Julie Baslee and husband Kevin of Lamar; four grandchildren, Jade Morgan, Jenna Baslee, Lauren Morgan and Landon Baslee who preceded her in death in 2004.  Additional survivors include two sisters, Katherine Howrey of Carthage, and Dorris Westbay and husband Dean of Lamar, three sisters-in-law, Beula Miller, Linda Morgan and the late Richard Morgan, and Patsy Andrews and husband Bill, all of Lamar, and a host of nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her parents, a grandson Landon Baslee, a sister-in-law Doris and husband Russell Onstott. Jackie surrendered her life to the Lord at a young age and was a faithful member of the Full Gospel Tabernacle.  She was a homemaker and worked as a Library Assistant at the Lamar Schools from 2000 to 2009.  She enjoyed cooking, tending to her flowers, and keeping her home.  She was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Funeral Service will be 10:00 am Monday, November 11, 2013 at Daniel Funeral Home with burial to follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Oakton, MO. The family will receive friends 4:00 to 6:00 pm Sunday at Daniel Funeral Home. Contributions are suggested to Full Gospel Tabernacle Building Fund, Oakton United Methodist Building Fund, Lamar Family Ministries Building Fund or Lamar FFA in care of Daniel Funeral Home.
