Herbert Lee Overstreet, age 64, of rural Lamar, passed away
Sunday night, October 1, 2017, at home.
Herb was born January 30, 1953, in Girard, Kansas, to
Herbert George Overstreet and Ruth Nadine (Bennett) Overstreet. He was preceded
in death by his father.
Herb graduated from Lamar High School in 1971. On September
15, 1973, at Oakton Methodist Church, he married Connie Costley and they made
their home and raised their three children in Lamar. Many will remember Herb for the excellent
service they received from him at the local parts stores for 20 years. He later worked for the City of Lamar for ten
years.
Herb was saved August 29, 2017, and baptized September 5,
2017. His greatest loves were spending time at the lake and with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Connie; mother, Nadine; sons,
Jamie (Melissa) Overstreet and Bryan (Denise) Overstreet; daughter, Brenda
(Troy) Burge; brothers Harold (Jane) Overstreet, Brad (Rhonda) Overstreet, and
Greg (Belinda) Overstreet; nine grandchildren, Kaden (Haley), Kyler, Kolin,
Kase, Krissy, Baylee, Sammi Overstreet, Kennedi and Whitley Burge; and a
great-grandson, Myles Overstreet.
A memorial to celebrate Herb's life will be held Wednesday,
October 4th, at Oakton Methodist Church.
