Harold Rutledge

Harold Edmond Rutledge, age 81, of Golden City, Missouri passed away from complications of Alzheimer's on December 22, 2021, at Good Shepherd Community Care in Lockwood, Missouri.   Harold was born June 4, 1940 in Jerico Springs, Missouri to Harold Elton Rutledge and Vola Beryl (Farmer) Rutledge. On April 14, 1970, Harold married Virginia Ann Blue in Lockwood, MO.   Harold operated a tire shop in Lamar for many years and later worked as a contractor doing pole inspection for Electric Co-Ops. He served in the U.S. Army, stationed mainly in Germany. He was a member of the Lamar Metro Club and the Shriners. After retirement, he and his wife enjoyed spending time on their wooded acreage with their cats, watching wildlife and the changing seasons. Harold also liked building furniture in his home workshop.   Survivors include his wife Virginia of Golden City, MO, two daughters from a prior marriage; Kay "Janelle" Dimond of Shawnee, Kansas and "Carmen" Leigh Rutledge of Lamar, MO, six grandchildren; Chariti Farmer, Ryan Braker, Colton (Kathy) Higgins, Jordan (Reed) Dimond, Kendall (Brook) Morrow and Adrian Dimond, and six great-grandchildren; Emily (Chris) Johnson, Riley Farmer, Keily Farmer, Adler Braker, Maliya Higgins and Calon Higgins.   Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, December 27, 2021 at Lockwood Cemetery in Lockwood, Missouri.   The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00 pm, Sunday, December 26, 2021 at Daniel Funeral Home.   Contributions are suggested and made payable to Small Town Feline Friends in care of Daniel Funeral Home.   Condolences may be shared at www.dfhlamar.com
