Guy Melvin Richey

Guy Melvin Richey, age 93, passed away February 5, 2021, at Cox Barton County Hospital in Lamar, Missouri.    .   Guy was born November 11, 1927 in White Cloud, Kansas to Phillip Edward Richey and Zula Mae (Steeley) Richey.  On June 14, 1949, Guy married Irma Jane Nuzum in Troy, Kansas.   Guy worked as a sales representative for Prudential Insurance. He loved bird hunting, pheasant hunting, crappie fishing and fishing trips with the family to Canada. He was a Kansas City Royals and Kansas City Chiefs fan. Guy was a member of Oakton United Methodist Church.   Survivors include one son; Mel (Pat) Richey, Louisburg, KS, one daughter; Pam (Dave) Eaves, Lamar, MO, eight grandchildren; Scott (Alyona) Richey, Arlington, VA, Sarah (Trever) Logan, Virginia Beach, VA, Hannah (Jason) Costigan, Olathe, KS, Emily Cates, Louisburg, KS, Lucas (Andrea) Nay, Grain Valley, MO, Christopher (Tiffany) Nay, Lee's Summit, MO, Kelly Nay, Orrick, MO, Brandy (Ethan) Lawrence, Lamar, MO, 12 great-grandchildren, one sister; Neva Keller, White Cloud, KS.   Preceding Guy in death were his wife; Irma, one daughter; Becky Nay, five siblings and his beloved dog Bridget.   Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at Daniel Funeral Home with burial to follow at Lake Cemetery, Lamar, MO.   There is no visitation planned.   Contributions are suggested and made payable to Meals on Wheels in care of Daniel Funeral Home.   Condolences may be shared at www.dfhlamar.com
