Grace Elaine Arnold, age 80, of Lamar, passed away Saturday, June 27, 2009, surrounded by her family at Barton County Memorial Hospital.        Gracie was born January 1, 1929, at Campbellsport, Wisconsin, to William and Helen (Breyman) Martin.  After graduating from high school in Milwaukee in 1946 she moved to Lamar where, on June 21, 1947, she married Clarence “Yippie” Arnold, Jr.  They had celebrated 41 years together before Yippie passed away February 26, 1989.  She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Greg Arnold, in October, 2006, and three sisters, Edna Boyer, Leah Lines, and Irene Hosselton.      In addition to working in the Arnold family-owned Lamar Greenhouse, Gracie worked in the law office of Gordon Boyer and was a tax preparer for several years. She had worked for the Department of Defense in the Lamar office of the Selective Service Division as well as the U.S. Department of Agriculture (FHA) Nevada office for many years. Always active in her community, Gracie was a member of Lamar United Methodist Church, Lamar Country Club, Red Hat Classi Lassies, Surviving Spouses, and various bridge clubs.  She enjoyed bowling, golfing and fishing.        Survivors include two sons and their wives, Bob & Donna Arnold, Lamar and Steve & Deanna Arnold, Waco, Missouri; a sister, Edith Balthazor, St. Paul, Minnesota; several nieces and nephews; five grandchildren, Doug & wife Tonya Arnold, Carl Junction, Matt & wife Jennifer Arnold, Carl Junction, J.J. & husband Steve Shaw, Lamar, Julie Arnold, Lamar, and 2Lt. Jonathan Arnold, Ft. Hood, Texas; and seven great-grandchildren, Noah, Blaine, & Trey Shaw, Kadynce, Olivia, Max Gregory, & Georgia Arnold.  An eighth great grandchild, Gracie Jo will be born in September.        Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 1st at Daniel Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 7:00 until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday.  Burial will be in Lake Cemetery.        Memorial contributions are suggested to Lamar United Methodist Church Building Fund or Waco Cemetery in care of Daniel Funeral Home.        This obituary may be viewed and condolences sent at www.danielfuneralhome.net
