Gerald Lee Shaver Sr.

Gerald Lee Shaver Sr., age 85, of Lamar, Missouri passed away August 31, 2023, at Freeman Hospital in Joplin, Missouri.
 
Gerald was born December 1, 1937 in Arcadia, Kansas to George Buel Shaver and Mary Barbara (Trautwein) Shaver. Gerald married Thelma Jeanne Talbott on July 18, 1954 and this union resulted in four children, Ivy Jean, Lee Jr., Joe and Debra. Gerald then married Zella Arline Williams on August 10, 1972 in Lamar, MO, and this union resulted in two children, Amy Ann and John.
 
Gerald owned and operated Shaver's Repair Shop for over 55 years. He took great pride in his business and helping his community. He was an avid gun collector and a member of Muddy Creek Muzzle Loaders and enjoyed going on rendezvous with friends and family. Gerald also had a love for steam engines and Volkswagen rabbit vehicles. He loved his family and would do anything for them or anyone in need.

Survivors include six children; Ivy Jean (Michael) Davis of Lockwood, MO., Lee (Andrea) Shaver Jr. of Lamar, Joe (Jenny) Shaver of Lamar, Debra Josephine Pugh of Lamar, Amy Ann (Robert) Sparks of Sheldon, MO, and John (Britney) Shaver of Lamar.

Gerald was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Arline; one daughter, Rayma Walters; one son, Tracy Walker; three brothers, Charles Shaver, Paul Shaver and John Shaver, and one sister, Mary Breedlove.
 
A visitation will be held from 5:00 ~ 7:00 p.m., Friday, September 8, 2023 at Daniel Funeral Home in Lamar, MO.
