Gene Daetwyler

Gene Daetwyler, age 94, of Lamar, Missouri passed away Sunday, March 21, 2021, at Truman Healthcare Center.        .   Gene was born August 21, 1926 in Barton County, MO to Homer Beavers Conn and Bessie (Elliff). She was a high school graduate and in September of 1947, she married Neil Milton Daetwyler.   Gene worked as a secretary for the Lamar Elementary School for 26 years, retiring in July 1988.  She had previously worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone for 18 years.   Survivors include a son-in-law, Wayne Patterson, three nieces, Locksley Conn, Longview, TX, Shannon Conn, Longview, TX and Donna McKenzie, LA; a nephew Craig Nuckolls, Denham Springs, LA; and extended family, Ronnie and Lynn Ann Sandberg, Gary and Patricia Gordon, Lonnie Pennell, John and Sheila Ford, all of Lamar, MO.   Preceding Gene in death were her husband, Neil; her daughter, Linda Patterson; her brother Wayne Conn and his wife Evelyn.   Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 24, 2021, at Round Prairie Cemetery.   Contributions are suggested and made payable to Round Prairie Cemetery or Barton County Senior Center in care of Daniel Funeral Home.
