Gaylene Franklin

Gaylene Franklin, age 53, of Lamar, MO passed Sunday June 15, 2014 after a short illness at Cox South Hospital in Springfield, MO. Gaylene was born July 1, 1960, at Lawrence, KS to Galen and Judith Horton.  She graduated from Ottawa High School and was retired from Thorco Industries in Lamar, MO.  She married LeRoy Franklin on May 12, 1986 at Lamar, MO. Survivors include her husband LeRoy Franklin Sr. of Lamar, MO; a son LeRoy Franklin Jr., Joplin, MO; a sister Sherry Worthington, Eudora Springs, KS; a brother Jay Ardahl, Overbrook, KS; two step sisters Cindy Cheek, Lawrence, KS and Julie Russel, Leawood, KS;  step mother, Sharon Horton, Overland Park, KS; and step father, Jon Ardahl, Lecompton, KS. She was preceded in death by her father, Glen Horton and mother, Judith Ardahl. Funeral service will be 11:00 am Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at Oakton United Methodist Church with burial to follow at Oakton Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until service time Wednesday at Oakton United Methodist Church. Contributions are suggested to Oakton United Methodist Church Building Fund in care of Daniel Funeral Home.
