Gary Wayne Lyden

Gary Wayne Lyden, age 59, of Liberal, Missouri died at his home Thursday, September 20, 2018. Gary was born September 1, 1959 in Pittsburg, Kansas to Lester Willard and Carol Ann (Mallory) Lyden and attended school in Pittsburg and Pratt, Kansas. He was a “Jack of all Trades” and had worked in the oil business and had owned and operated his own flooring business. Gary enjoyed making Native American Bone Art and sharing it with friends and family. Gary is survived by one son, Joshua Levi Lyden, Liberal, Missouri; two step sons, Truman Metcalf, Liberal, Missouri and Tony Winthrow, Pittsburg, Kansas; three step daughters, Nicole Metcalf, Liberal, Missouri, Ruth Metcalf, Liberal, Missouri, and Niki Winthrow, Pittsburg, Kansas; his mother, Carol Ann Beck, Pittsburg, Kansas; a brother, Jeremy Willard Lyden, Humboldt, Kansas; a sister Diana and husband George, Viets, Pittsburg, Kansas; two grandchildren, Arya Metcalf and Tyr Metcalf; and a large extended family. Preceding him in death were his wife Donna Winthrow and his father Lester Lyden. The family will gather at 5:00 pm, Saturday, September 29, 2018 at his sister’s house for a Celebration of Life.
