Esther Jane "Jeannie' Koehn, age 85, of Lamar, Missouri, passed away on June 23, 2026, in Joplin, Missouri.
Jeannie was born June 28, 1940, in Galva, Kansas, to Alfred Pete Schmidt and Elma Marie (Boise) Schmidt. She was united in marriage to Franklin "Frank" Harold Koehn on June 12, 1959, in El Dorado, Kansas, and together they shared 54 years of marriage before Frank's passing in 2014.
Jeannie was employed at O'Sullivan Industries in Lamar, Missouri, and was actively involved with the Girl Scouts organization. She enjoyed spending time with her family.
Survivors include three sons, Ricky Koehn and wife, Debra, of Joplin, Missouri, Michael Koehn and wife, Kathy, of Lamar, Missouri, and Nicholas Jimenez and wife Ericka of Carl Junction, Missouri; one daughter, Victoria Ann Jimenez of Lamar, Missouri; three grandchildren, Elizabeth Ann Esther Sheriff and husband Gilbert, of Lamar, Missouri, Krista Renae Koehn of Joplin, Missouri, and Trey Michael Blackmon of Lamar, Missouri; six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Clinton Schmidt of Brainerd, Kansas, and Alfred Schmidt of Whitewater, Kansas; and two sisters, Helen Russell and Carrie Guther, both of Newton, Kansas.
Esther was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Elma Schmidt; her husband, Franklin “Frank” Koehn; and one brother, Dean Allen Schmidt.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 11, 2026, at Daniel Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time on Saturday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested and may be made payable to the American Cancer Society, in care of the funeral home.
