Emily Sue Jett

Emily Sue Jett, age 90, of Lamar, Missouri passed away March 4, 2022, at Good Shepherd Community Care in Lockwood, Missouri.   Emily was born March 19, 1931 in Dodge City, Kansas to Robert LeRoy Aton and Margaret Sue (Redman) Aton. Emily married Robert "Bob" Garrett on November 16, 1951, he preceded her in death on December 18, 1998, she then married Herbert Glen Jett on June 5, 2003 and he preceded her in death on June 27, 2015.   Emily worked as an Executive Secretary for Barton County State Bank and was a member of Lamar First Baptist Church.   Survivors include one son, Joe Garrett of Springfield, Missouri, one daughter, Constance Garrett of Atlanta, Georgia, and one sister, Roberta "Bertie" Ann Wilton of Denver, Colorado.   Emily was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, one brother, Arthur Aton, two sisters; Margaret Nelson and Virginia Hall, and one niece Charlene Wilton.   Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, March 11, 2022 at the Lamar First Baptist Church in Lamar, Missouri with burial to follow at Lake Cemetery in Lamar, MO.   There will be a viewing held from 10:00 a.m., until service time Friday at the Church.   Contributions are suggested and made payable to the First Baptist Church Building Fund in care of Daniel Funeral Home.   Condolences may be shared at www.dfhlamar.com
