Donald Dwane Holder, age 65, of rural Jerico Springs, Missouri, passed away Sunday, March 16, 2014 at Fayetteville VA Hospital.       Donnie was born December 18, 1948 at Jerico Springs, one of the five children of Loyd and Mary (Barnett) Holder.  After graduating from Nixa High School, Don entered the U.S. Army, serving with the 390 Support Detachment and the 48th Assault Helicopter Company in Ninnhoa, Vietnam.  Completing his three year term, he returned to Missouri to embark on a career that included many years as a heavy equipment mechanic, nine years as a trucker, several years as a supervisor at Thorco Industries in Lamar, and retiring after 14 years as a supervisor at Pennington Seed in Greenfield.  He was known for his skill as a mechanic and many will remember him as the owner/operator of Don’s Shade Tree Auto.  He was a talented woodworker and an avid outdoorsman whose perfect day would include family and fishing.      On February 18, 1970, at Nixa, Missouri, Don married the love of his life, Rosea Lee Achor, and she survives.  Also surviving are three sons, Michael Don Holder (Dawn Smith) of Plattsburgh, New York, Matthew Thurman Holder and fiancé Kristina Windmer, Pittsburg, Kansas, and  Marvin (Stephanie) Ayers, Sheldon, Missouri; a daughter, Loana Michell (Wayne) Burton, Stockton; a brother, Elton (Judy) Holder, El Dorado Springs; two sisters, Betty (Joe) Young, Clever, and Patty (Marvin) McCrery, Jerico Springs; grandchildren, Colby (Maggie) Elliston, Cassie (Nathan) Wallen, Kayla (Gary) Obert, Kelcey Burton, Seth Holder, Kary Burton, Samantha Holder, Joseph Holder, Tristian Holder, Christopher Holder, Leonardo Holder, Luke Ayers and Orin Ayers; a great-granddaughter, Trinity  Obert; many nephews and nieces and a large extended family.  Don was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Carol Wayne Holder; and a great-granddaughter, Isabella Marie Wallen.        Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 22nd at Daniel Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 6:00 until 7:00 p.m. Friday.  Burial with full military honors will in Hall Cemetery near Jerico Springs.       Memorial contributions are suggested to Disabled American Veterans or Patriot Guard Riders, in care of Daniel Funeral Home.
