Donald Eugene "Papa" Dickerhoof, age 82, of rural Lamar, passed away Saturday, April 6, 2013 at his home following a sudden illness.      Don was born January 15, 1931 at Akron, Ohio, one of the three children of Carl and Marion (Kline) Dickerhoof.   On July 14, 1956, at Akron, he married the love of his life, Jane Elizabeth Lyons, and they had celebrated nearly 53 years together before her death February 23, 2009.  He was also preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Carol Marquette.      After graduating from high school, Don enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, serving from 1950 through 1954 in Europe during the Korean War. Don then began a long career as a tool and die maker, first for Akron Standard and then Texas Instruments.  Retiring in 1992, Don and Jane moved to Missouri to be near family.  Don was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather who enjoyed spending time boating and fishing.  He will be remembered as a special "Papa" by his many friends as well as his family.  Don attended Oakton United Methodist Church.      Survivors include a daughter, Marcy & husband Keith Morris, Lamar; a son, Michael Dickerhoof and Mary Louise, Henrietta, Texas; a sister, Kay Evans, Akron, Ohio; three grandsons, Joshua Collins, Lamar, Jason Stern, Chicago, Illinois, and Don C. Dickerhoof, Henrietta; and four great-grandchildren, Zackery Collins and Sadie Collins, Joplin, Talon Stern, El Dorado Springs, Missouri, and Jeana Stern of Chicago.      A graveside committal service will be held Wednesday, April 10th at North Lawn Cemetery in Canton, Ohio.
