Della Joy Ford

Della Joy Ford, age 59, of Lamar, passed away Wednesday, June 10, 2009 at Freeman Hospital West in Joplin.        Della was born January 9, 1950, at White Earth, Minnesota, to Lawrence and Corrine (Antell) McKenzie.  She grew up in Lengby and Big Falls, Minnesota, graduating from Gimmil High School and completing two years of college. When she was 18 years old, Della moved to Lamar where she worked for O’Sullivan Industries for 30 years.  She was a league bowler and a talented artist who enjoyed painting and drawing.  Della was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Lamar.        Survivors include a daughter, Tina Haines, Lamar; two brothers, Lawrence McKenzie, Jr. and Pete McKenzie, both of Minnesota; three sisters, Elvira Antell, Karen Stevens, and Linda Barsness, all of Minnesota; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a large extended family.  She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Marcia Bohannon; and two brothers, Larry McKenzie and Wilfred Kier.        Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 13th, at Daniel Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 6:00 until 7:00 p.m. Friday.
