Dee Gage

Edna Delores "Dee"  Gage, age 87, of Lamar, Missouri passed away July 11, 2019, at Truman Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. Dee was born March 1, 1932 in Cumberland, MD to Franklin William Sherwood and Anna Belle (Crossland) Sherwood.  On December 21, 1971, Edna married Donald William Gage in Lamar. Dee had owned and operated a clothing and shoe store in Joplin and  she and Don ran Gage Real Estate Agency. She was very active for years in the VFW Auxiliary, was a water color artist, enjoyed her flower and vegetable gardens, loved to cook, and play the piano.  When she was young she moved around a lot because her father was in the US Air Force. Dee was also very athletic and loved to figure skate when she was youngerSurvivors include a daughter, Lisa Davis, Lamar, MO and a daughter in Texas; two grandchildren, Cody Davis and Sophia Davis; a half sister in Cumberland, MD; a cousin in Utah, Eugene Crossland, and a cousin in Florida.Preceding  Dee in death were her parents and her husband Don in 2011. Graveside service will be 10:00 am, Thursday, July 18, 2019, at Lake Cemetery.The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 pm, Wednesday,  at the funeral home.  Contributions are suggested and made payable to  Barton County Sr. Center in care of Daniel Funeral Home
