David G. Carpenter      David G. Carpenter, age 62, of Liberal, died Monday, July 27, 2009 at Barton County Memorial Hospital following a brief illness.         David was born March 6, 1947 at Oskaloosa, to Willie A. & Carrie (Guss) Carpenter.  A life-long area resident, he graduated from Liberal High School in 1965 and attended Ozark Christian College in Joplin.  David served in the National Guard and worked as a customer service representative for O’Sullivan Industries and Lincoln Insurance. He also had worked in the computer departments of St. John’s Hospital and Western Insurance Company.        On May 27, 1992, at Lamar, he married Jeanette Wood and she survives of the home.  Also surviving are three sons, Justin David Scott, Nathan William, and Dustin Charles Carpenter, all of the home; three sisters, Irene Sutcliffe, Ft. Scott, Kansas, Leota & husband Jim McClendon, Liberal, and Wanda “Jay” Dunn & husband, Bill, Ft. Scott, Kansas; a brother, Bill & wife Karen Carpenter, Liberal; four nieces; and six nephews.        David was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Evelyn Jones; and nephews, Gary Dunn and Connor Tenholder.        David loved the Lord and was an active member of Milford Christian Church.  A devoted husband and father, David enjoyed any activity that could be shared with his family and friends and loved spending time with his wife and sons.   He had a passion for cars, especially hot rods and was an avid outdoorsman who appreciated nature.  His hobbies included walking and running and he was interested in the careers and lifestyles of runners.        Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, July 30th, at Milford Christian Church, 758 East Highway C, Milford, Missouri.  Burial will be in Shiloh Cemetery north of Liberal, Missouri.        The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at Daniel Funeral Home in Lamar.        Memorial contributions are suggested to Carpenter Children Education Fund in care of Daniel Funeral Home.        .
